10 Free Things to Do in Bristol



bristol is a beautiful city and there are a plethora of things to do there for free. Most people know about the Clifton Suspension Bridge, but there is so much more about Bristol!



1. Clifton Suspension Bridge

This bridge has global fame and was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and was only completed after his death. It is a key iconic part of Bristol. If you didn't know about the bridge before now, then it should be number one on your list of places to visit in Bristol.

2. M Shed

This is a relatively new museum in Bristol. If you like museums then you will love this place. It covers the last 2000 years of Bristol history; the aim of this particular museum is to create discussion of the future through the past. The museum is located on the Bristol wharfs, in a converted transit shed.

3. Castle Park

The park is a brilliant place to take a leisurely stroll and soak in the beauty. It is also a great location to rest and relax on a warm sunny day, and maybe even have a picnic for lunch. This is a great place for everyone from all walks of life.

4. Bristol Museum and Art Gallery

Another wonderful museum, but it is more of an art museum in comparison to the M Shed. There are some really amazing and beautiful pieces of art in the gallery. If you are into Egyptology and archaeology then this is the place to be.

5. Gromit Unleashed

If you've watched the TV series Wallace and Gromit in your childhood then you will love the Gromit Unleashed art exhibition. They are showcasing 70 different Gromit works of art created by a variety of artists. Wallace and Gromit are internationally famous British characters, so it is well worth spending some time to see the exhibition.

6. Bristol Tour

Take the free walking tour on Saturdays around the streets of Bristol and view some of the most amazing pieces of street art in the world. The tour also covers over 60,000 years of Bristol history.

7. iTreasure Hunt

It is an iOS and Android application which is used to create your own treasure hunts and complete treasure hunts created by others in Bristol. It is very entertaining activity for the family and the children.

8. The Georgian House Museum

Take a look at the life of the 1800s by visiting an 18th century townhouse. The museum is one of the few remaining fully maintained townhouses in the UK.

9. Brandon Hill

A beautiful park with a designated children's play zone, and provides a stunning view over the city of Bristol. The park is a designated conservation area for nature, it is also another wonderful place to rest and relax.
