Melbourne Musts! Get the Most Out of Your Stay

One of the most popular destinations in Australia, Melbourne is a must-visit - but don't bother if you can't spare at least a few weeks! Melbourne is a cultural and artistic hot spot in the country, and a trip demands some time to see it all and really immerse yourself in the city space. From the shopping to the wildlife, there's plenty to do and plenty of diversity as well. With an experience to suit everyone, you're sure to be charmed during your stay.

Melbourne Musts

As I stated before, there's plenty to do in the city - having so many Melbourne experiences available can be pretty overwhelming - but what are the absolute musts? Check out a few of the very best things to do in Melbourne, the attractions, activities and day trips that you shouldn't miss.

Queen Victoria Market

Known for its winding streets and lanes, Melbourne is most exciting on foot. The Queen Victoria Market is an iconic part of the city and an open air street market that you need to visit. Pick up some seafood and produce or check out the crafts, clothing and jewellery stalls Friday to Sunday and Tuesday.

Melbourne's Festivals

Cultural experiences in Melbourne should be part of anybody's trip. Sure there's the Melbourne Museum and plenty of Art Galleries, but if you want something special then you need to check out the International Fringe, Comedy or Arts festival. Hopefully one is on during your stay.

Drink and Eat

With the kind of nightlife that you only find in a city with millions of residents, wining, dining and clubbing is something special. With great restaurants like the revered Attica in Ripponlea and wine tours in the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula region during the day, there's plenty to taste while you're here.

Bells Beach

Great Ocean Road is often cited as a top day trip, but you'll want to get to Bells Beach specifically. Home to some of the best waves in the world and the longest running surf competition, the Rip Curl Pro, whether you're a keen surfer or not, Bells Beach is the best place to give it a go and an excellent destination.

These are just a few, but hopefully these Melbourne musts are enough to get you started during your trip.
